Tears may be for fears, but snow is not for show
2005-01-23 : 5:26 p.m.

Thirty inches of snow with 6 ft. drifts. Needless to say, much of today was spent shovelling. Once at 7 A.M., once around noonish, and final clean-up at 3 in the afternoon. (You can tell a true Massachusetts bathroom if it's covered inscarves, gloves, hats, jackets, and snowpants.) Because of the snowstorm I don't have my first studios tomorrow. I suspected as much, but denied that it would happen (like I did to Lizzie) who called last night! We caught up, vented, gossiped and pondered. Using Dad's laptop I was able to talk on MSN for quite a while too, which was loverly. Talked about dogs and lyrics with Dave, Britishisms and Evanescence with Yags. Speaking of lyrics, the following wasn't meant to be a song but we'll see what happens. It still needs polishing. Written in and in reference to my Expository Writing class.

hands write commentaries
in the air
silence
from the passenger

marbles drop
on the stone
scatter
roll
awkward words

spinning, tapping
movingon
lengthy silence
filled by
sentances

speaker annoyed
listener unresponsive
steering wheel turning
on the one way
alley

car is stuck--sidewas
blocking the road
commentary stops
driver
one side
passenger
two

one way
conversations
travel and drive
stalled by
silent
verbs

Today I got out the camera and did some more experimental self portrait piccys (what else can one do when one is snowed in?). Mum helped me out with some of the pics to show the length of my hair. When I get on my computer I'll post them.

Mad World
Tears for Fears

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
