Half past an All-Nighter
28 February, 2005 : 8:34 p.m.

I don't understand the concept of pulling an all-nighter. I never really have. Here I sit, staring at the four annotations I need to write before tomorrow morning and I know that it's going to take me another two hours to finish. Yet I have absolutely no inclination to stay up past midnight writing. In fact I'll go to sleep and not finish at all rather than stay up later than my sleepy-self will allow. Perhaps it makes me a lazy person, perhaps it makes me rather sensible, perhaps it shows the lack of a vested interest I have in this subject, perhaps it shows that I plan ahead more than other students, thus finishing my projects without the need of an all-nighter. Out of my whole school career, though, I think that I've pulled onl 2 all-nighters. I'm rather proud of myself.

Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (a man after midnight)
ABBA

Half past twelve
And I'm watching the late show in my flat all alone
How I hate to spend the evening on my own
Autumn winds
Blowin' outside my window as I look around the room
And it makes me so depressed to see the gloom
There's not a soul out there
No one to hear my prayer

Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day

Movie stars
Find the end of the rainbow with a fortune to win
It's so different from the world I'm livin' in
Tired of t.v.
I open the window and I gaze into the night
But there's nothing there to see, no one in sight
There's not a soul out there
No one to hear my prayer

Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! a man after midnight
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! a man after midnight

There's not a soul out there
No one to hear my prayer

Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day

"'Why, you have nearly finished it, Mr. Frodo!' Sam exclaimed. ... 'I have quite finished, Sam,' said Frodo. 'The last pages are for you.'"
